The Organization:
The Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores (CACDS) is the national association that represents community pharmacies in Canada. The Retail Members of CACDS are traditional chain and banner drug stores, grocery chains and mass merchandisers with pharmacies. Together, CACDS members operate more than 6,200 pharmacies that dispense almost 70 per cent of the nation's prescriptions each year. CACDS members employ over half a million Canadians, including 80 per cent of the pharmacists in Canada practicing in community pharmacies.
CACDS members include; Calgary Cooperative Association, Canada Safeway, Costco Wholesale, Hbc Pharmacies, Katz Group Canada, Loblaw, Companies, London Drugs, Lovell Drugs, Medical Pharmacies Group, Metro Ontario, Overwaitea Food Group, Paragon Pharmacies, Pharmachoice, Pharmasave Drugs, Prince Theodore Group, Remedy Drug Store, Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix, Sobeys Pharmacy Group, The North West Company, Total Health Pharmacy, and Wal-Mart Canada.
The Associate Members of CACDS represent all supply categories and services in the retail pharmacy industry, including pharmaceuticals, health and wellness products, self-care medications and other consumer products.
Our goal is to represent community pharmacy, reaching out to stakeholders to generate a better understanding of our vital and expanding role as health care hubs for Canadians.
Duties:
- Support VP Pharmacy Affairs and VP Public Affairs, their reports and respective Committees
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project deadlines
- Coordinate schedules, meetings and make travel arrangements
- Prepare agendas arrange and coordinate meetings, draft and circulate meeting minutes
- Track budget, process invoices and complete expense reports
- Assist in preparation of reports, proposals and presentations appropriate for intended audience
- Manage document retention and electronic shared files according to established policies
- Communicate effectively and professionally with member company representatives, government officials, stakeholder organizations and CACDS colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Formal academic training at a Community College level in Administration, business related discipline or equivalent work experience (minimum 3 years)
- Significant progressive administrative experience supporting senior staff
- Excellent organization and scheduling skills with the ability to multi-task, use sound judgment and take initiative.
- Strong problem solving, prioritization, accuracy and the ability to work with conflicting deadlines and interruptions.
- Demonstrated track record of working effectively and collaboratively at all levels in a professional team environment
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
- Ability to analyze information for process improvement.
- Well developed proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Some proficiency in French is an asset
