
Mission and Strategic Priorities
Our mission is to ensure a strong community pharmacy sector, providing Canadian consumers with access to high quality products and health care services.
CACDS will achieve this by:
- Promoting and enhancing the role and value of community pharmacy members and their pharmacists in the health care system
- Engaging governments and regulators at all levels to ensure their comprehensive understanding of frontline issues affecting the economic viability of chain and banner drug stores
- Representing member interests by monitoring and responding to emerging industry issues
- Developing innovative health care solutions
- Partnering with the vendors to increase supply chain efficiencies which result in improved consumer satisfaction
Strategic Priorities:
Advocacy
CACDS advocates with all levels of government to ensure a full understanding of the potential impact of issues and legislation on the business of community pharmacy and its ability to deliver effective, frontline health care.
Stakeholder relations
By communicating and partnering with industry stakeholders, CACDS builds productive relationships which enhance our Association’s advocacy efforts and development of innovative solutions.
Economics and policy development
CACDS engages stakeholders and governments to ensure a thorough understanding of current pharmacy economics and to develop policies which will help sustain and grow the sector.
e-health
CACDS, in partnership with stakeholders, vendors and governments is leading the development of a harmonized, pan-Canadian e-health solution which will enhance efficiency and accuracy in the delivery of health care services.
Membership
CACDS is the only national organization focused on promoting and enhancing the relationship between community pharmacy retailers and their trading partners.
