CACDS congratulates PEI on Drug Information System

CHARLOTTETOWN, February 1, 2007 -- Premier Pat Binns announced today that Prince Edward Island is implementing a Drug Information System that will record information on all prescription drugs dispensed to Island residents.

Nadine Saby, President and Chief Executive Officer for CACDS, participated in the media announcement. She congratulated the PEI government for implementing the first province-wide Drug Information System (DIS) in Canada and for involving community pharmacy in its development. She also acknowledged that the DIS is an important step in PEI's progress towards an electronic health record for all Prince Edward Island residents.
